Don Carlos Personal Reserve boasts incredible construction and a gorgeous black, and gold band. The honey brown Cameroon wrapper is seamlessly rolled and finished with a triple cap. The generous draw oozes dense clouds of thick, white smoke, first giving the palate a thorough slathering of creamy sweet tobacco flavor. Cocoa, honey and subtle vanilla notes soon follow. A sweet, peppery finish grazes the nose on the retrohale (a practice which may as well be a requirement when enjoying any rare Fuente). Overall, Don Carlos Personal Reserve sits on the heavy end of medium-bodied, but is overwhelmingly complex and velvety smooth all the way down. This level of luxury is what the Fuente family is all about.
